Plasma Cloud Access Points are able to perform radio frequency scans to assess nearby WiFi as well as non-WiFi signals and their strength. RF scans can be run automatically or manually, depending on your network configuration and troubleshooting needs.

Automatic RF scans
When WIFI AI is enabled on your network, Plasma Cloud APs will automatically perform regular RF scans during your configured maintenance window. This allows devices to continuously adapt to changes in the RF environment for optimal performance.
Manually trigger an instant RF Scan
To assist with troubleshooting, follow these steps to get a live snapshot of the current RF environment:
- Ensure the Access Point is online.
- Open the RF popup. Refer to this article for step-by-step instructions.
-
Click the refresh button
located above the graph to initiate an immediate scan.
|
During an RF scan, client devices may experience temporary connection drops or slowdowns. It is recommended to perform RF scans during maintenance windows or off-peak hours.
|
|
Should the RF scan fail and show a "device unreachable / offline" message even though the AP is online, please check your firewall settings (see this article).
