This article guides you through the process of assigning multiple SSIDs to the same Access Point.
The first 4 SSIDs created in a network can be automatically assigned to every Access Point.

To assign different SSIDs to a specific Access Point:
- Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
- Select the Organisation and Network associated with your Access Point from the top right menu;
- Navigate to Access Points in the main menu on the left;
- Identify the Access Point in the table that you want to configure, and click on it. This will open the Access Point settings page;
- Scroll down to the Assigned SSIDs section.
Here, you can either:
- Assign an SSID: click in the text field under Assigned SSIDs to open the drop-down menu and and select the SSID you want to add.
- Unassign an SSID: click on the closing icon next to an SSID name to unassign it from this Access Point.
Click Save to apply the new SSIDs assignment to this Access Point.
Overview of APs with same SSID assignment
For an easy overview which devices are using the same SSID, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Settings > SSID > SSID name in the main menu on the left;
- Click on the 3-dot button on the right; and
- Select List APs with this SSID from the menu.
Troubleshooting
Assigning a specific SSID to a device is especially useful when aiming to connect to a designated Access Point, for example for testing and debugging purposes. It allows you to virtually separate a device from the rest of the network, without the need to physically re-wire your Access Point or change the configuration of the entire network.
