Pairing is that operation that links a device to your Plasma Cloud account and allows the two to exchange data securely.
This prevents third parties from impersonating an access point and thus sending or receiving data to/from the cloud on its behalf.
When an Access Point needs to be paired with you Plasma Cloud account, it will show an alert in the form of a red triangle in the status column of the access point list, as shown below. On mouse hovering, the message Pairing needed will pop-up.
This commonly occurs after re-flashing an Access Point with a new firmware.
To pair your Access Point, you can either click on in the popup or, alternatively,
- click on the three dots at the end of the row in the access point list; and
- select Pair (see image below for reference).
Expect this operation to take up to 5 minutes.
