Plasma Cloud devices feature QR codes to simplify interactions via the Console or mobile app. You can use them to:
- Add new devices, or
- Find existing devices in your account.
This guide explains how to use the QR scanner inside the Add Device popup.

Scanning the QR Code
- Open the Add Device popup. A step-by-step guide is available here.
- Click the “Scan QR Code” button to open the QR code scanner.
- When prompted, allow camera permissions. See camera permission article for guidance.
- The QR code scanner will open.

Point your camera at the QR code. Make sure the QR code fully fits within the rectangle marked by the four white corner guides.
Camera Controls
If multiple cameras are available, click the “Switch Camera” button at the bottom of the screen to select your preferred camera. The current camera name will be displayed above.
If supported, you may use the “1x,” “2x,” or “4x” buttons to zoom. These buttons are hidden on cameras without zoom.
After successfully scanning a QR code, the scanner will automatically close and take you to the next step in the Add Device wizard.
Troubleshooting
Not all QR codes can be scanned successfully. For example, QR codes that don’t contain a valid MAC address will still be detected by the scanner (as indicated by the green corner guides), but their content won’t be processed. Instead, the following error message will appear:
