How to create a Floor Plan?

The Plasma Cloud console allows you to create and manage multiple Floor plans. For a general overview about Floor Plans, please refer to this article. 

The first step in using Floor Plans is to create a Floor plan by uploading an image of your site layout. Once uploaded, you can begin placing your devices on it. Follow these steps to add a new Floor Plan to your network:

Modify permission is required for creating floor plans on networks owned by other user accounts. Related UI elements will not be visible should the permission level be insufficient. See details on Plasma Cloud permissions here.

Add Floor Plan via Main Menu

1. Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
2. Select the Organisation and Network to which you want to add a Floor Plan from the top right menu;
3. Navigate to Settings > Floor Plans > Create Floor Plan in the main menu on the left;
4. The Add Floor Plan popup will appear.

1. Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
2. Select the Organisation and Network to which you want to add a Floor Plan from the top right menu;
3. Navigate to Map & Floor Plans and click on the Floor Plan button on the right to open a side menu;
4. Scroll down to the final menu entry "+ Add Floor Plan" and click on it. The Add Floor Plan popup will appear.

In the popup window:

1. Enter a name for your Floor Plan.
2. Click on the folder icon to upload your custom Floor Plan image (JPG or PNG format), or tap the camera button to take a new photo (only available on mobile).
3. Press the Save button.

Floor Plan images have a size limit of 5 MB. Larger files will be automatically resized to meet the size requirement.

The Console will notify you once this operation has succeeded. The newly created Floor Plan will appear in the following locations:

• Main menu: on the left-hand side under Settings > Floor Plans. Clicking on the Floor Plan name will open its Floor Plan Settings page.
• Map & Floor Plans page: the newly created Floor Plan also appears in the Floor Plan side menu.
