You can easily allow selected clients to bypass the splash page on your SSIDs on the Plasma Cloud console. This proves especially useful when you want to "whitelist" specific devices to make sure they can freely access your network. It is possible to add this policy to both existing and new clients (i.e., those who have never used your network or were connected more than 30 days ago).
Existing Clients
To allow a client to bypass the splash page on selected SSID(s), you need to:
- Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
- Select the Organisation and Network containing your SSID of interest from the top right menu;
- Navigate to Clients in the main menu on the left; and
- Identify the client in question in the Clients table.
Next, you can either:
- Click anywhere on the client row inside the table; or
- Locate the action button (three dots) in the last column of the client row and select Splash page bypass.
In both cases, you will be redirected to the client details page. Now, in the Network access section, you need to:
- Select the SSID(s) you want to whitelist the client on. You can choose any number of SSIDs from the SSID list that appears by clicking on the field below Allow splash page to be bypassed on the following SSIDs; then
- Click on the Save button.
Please note that if you have reached this page through the 'Splash page bypass' menu, the SSID(s) will be auto selected based on the SSID(s) you were visualizing in the Clients page. If, as shown in the image below, All SSIDs was selected, clicking on 'Splash page bypass' will auto select all the SSIDs in the 'Allow splash page to be bypassed on the following SSIDs' field.
New clients
It is possible to whitelist a client that either never used your network or was connected more than 30 days ago. In this case, you need to manually add the client before being able to whitelist it. In order to do this:
- Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
- Navigate to Clients in the main menu;
- Click on the Add Policy button on top of the clients table;
- Enter the client MAC address and click on Add;
As for existing clients, you will now be redirected to the client details page. Now, in the Network access section, you need to:
- Select the SSID(s) you want to whitelist the client on. You can choose any number of SSIDs from the SSID list that appears by clicking on the field below Allow splash page to be bypassed on the following SSIDs; then
- Click on the Save button.
Please note the new whitelisted client will appear in the table shown under the Policies tab. Once the client connects to your network, it will be shown alongside other active clients in the table under the Activities tab as well.
