To go to the Port Isolation tab, you need to:
- Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
- Select the Organisation and Network containing the device from top-right menu.
- In the main menu on the left, navigate to Switches or Media Converter.
- Click on your device of interest in the table. This will take you to the Device Details page.
- Locate the Port Isolation tab below the network chart.
Port Popover
Hovering your cursor over a port displays a popover that reveals the Port's Isolation status.
Port Isolation table
The following section explains the meaning of each column in the Port Isolation table.
Port
- Displays the name and number of each port, including Ethernet and SFP ports (if any).
- The uplink port is marked in the table by an icon
- Displays user-added notes for each port (if any)
Connected Device
- Shows which devices are connected to each port. An overview of connected device icons and their meanings can be found here.
Unrestricted Traffic
- Port isolation restricts traffic flow between ports. The Unrestricted Traffic column displays all other ports the selected port can exchange traffic with
- If a port is not isolated or is the only isolated port, it can exchange traffic freely with all other ports. In such cases, the table will display “All ports” in the Unrestricted Traffic column. For more details, please see Understanding Port Isolation article.
Example: Ethernet ports 5 and 6 are isolated. These ports cannot exchange traffic with each other, but can still exchange traffic with all non-isolated ports, as indicated in the Unrestricted Traffic column.
