DHCP guarding

DHCP Guarding helps protect the network from unauthorized DHCP servers by filtering DHCP traffic.

When active, DHCP responses from rogue DHCP servers are blocked, ensuring that devices in the network receive configurations only from authorized DHCP servers. The DHCP guard activates and deactivates itself on the secondary Ethernet port of Access Points when rogue DHCP server responses are detected.

To see if DHCP guarding is active on a port, you need to

1. Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
2. Select the Organisation and Network containing the device from top-right menu.
3. In the main menu on the left, navigate to Access Points.
4. Click on your device of interest in the table. This will take you to the Access Point Details page.
5. Select the Ports tab below the network chart.
6. If DHCP guarding is active, an icon indicating this port status will be displayed.

To see whether DHCP guarding is active, the network needs to be configured with firmware version 4.1 or newer.
