How to assign devices to Floor Plans?

This guide explains how to populate Floor Plans with devices in the Plasma Cloud Console. Floor Plan assignment can be done in three different ways and locations, as shown below. For a general overview about Floor Plans, please refer to this article. 

Modify permission is required for assigning devices to Floor Plans in networks owned by other user accounts. Related UI elements will not be visible should the permission level be insufficient. See details on Plasma Cloud permissions here.

1 - Add Device Popup

When adding a new device, you have the option to assign it to a Floor Plan immediately. A step-by-step guide is available here.

2 - Map & Floor Plans page

Floor plan assignment is available within the device map marker popup on the Map & Floor Plans page:

1. Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
2. Select the Organisation and Network containing the device from the top right menu;
3. Navigate to Map & Floor Plans page in the main menu on the left.
4. Open the Floor Plan Menu on the right-hand side. 
5. Use the Unassigned Devices View to only see devices that haven't been placed on a Floor Plan yet. You may also use view options to filter specific device types.
6. Once you found your device on the map, click on the device marker to open its device popup.
7. In the General tab, select a Floor Plan from the drop-down menu.
8. The Floor Plan assignment will be saved immediately upon selection.

3 - Device Details page

Devices can also be assigned to Floor Plans via the Settings tab on the related Device Details page.

1. Open the related Device Details page clicking on the device name inside the device marker popup. Alternatively, navigate to Device Details via the main menu on the left. A step-by-step guide is available here. 
2. Go to the Settings tab.
3. Locate the Floor Plan section and select a Floor Plan from the drop-down menu.
4. Select the desired Floor Plan or create a new one using the '+' button.
5. Click Save.
