The Notes tab on the device details page allows you to store an image and custom description for your device. For a general overview of the Device Details page, please refer to this article for Access Points or this article for Switches.
To go to the Notes tab, you need to:
- Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
- Select the Organisation and Network containing the device from top-right menu.
- Navigate to Access Points or Switches in the main menu on the left.
- Click on the device you want to configure in the table to open its Device Details page.
- Locate the Notes tab, just below the network chart.
Device Image
In the image section on the left, you can upload a photo of your device. To do so:
- Upload an existing Photo: Click the folder icon to select a file from local storage, or
- Take a new Photo: Tap the camera icon to take and upload a new photo (only available on mobile).
Once uploaded, the image appears with an info box below, showing details like the upload date and name of the user who uploaded the file.
Later you have the following options:
- Delete Image: Click the delete icon.
- Replace Image: Click the folder icon (or tap the camera icon on mobile) to upload a new file.
After making changes, press Save to confirm.
Device Description
The description box next to the device photo enables administrators to add device details, provide context, and include relevant keywords because the account-wide device search also searches for content in the description box. Ensure the description is kept up-to-date, and click Save after editing.
