How to see devices connected to my Switch?

The advanced connected devices overview visualizes all devices wired to your Switches on the Plasma Cloud console, eliminating the time-consuming work of checking each switch connection manually. Even the largest networks can thereby be managed with ease.

To see devices connected to a Switch:

1. Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
2. Select the Organisation and Network containing the Switch of interest from the top right menu;
3. In the main menu on the left, navigate to Switches.
4. Click on your device of interest in the table to open the Switch Details page.
5. Locate the Ports tab below the network chart.
6. At the top of the Switch graphic, enable the Show connected devices toggle (disabled by default).

Once enabled, connected device icons will appear above or below the switch graphic, each connected by a dashed line to the specific port they are wired to.

Understanding the Visual Indicators

Each connected device is represented by an icon with specific shapes and colors, helping you quickly distinguish between device types—such as Access Points, Switches, Routers, and more.

Connected Device Popup

Clicking on an icon will open a popup window. It shows the name of the connected device with a direct link to its settings, its device model name and icon, as well as the Ethernet port used to connect to the Switch.

Please note that devices with red icons are classified as third-party devices. They are detected in the LAN but not part of your selected Plasma Cloud network, so only limited information is available.
