Management VLAN (tag: 4094) is a special VLAN that allows your Switch to connect to the Internet and communicate with our cloud straight out of the box. It is pre-configured as default VLAN on every Switch port (you can learn more about default VLAN in this article).
When applying changes to your Switch VLAN settings, please take into account that management VLAN must always remain configured on the uplink port. This ensures your Switch is able to receive DHCP, reach the Plasma Cloud console and thus connect to the Internet. Warning messages will pop up when attempting to deactivate management VLAN on the uplink port, as this action can only be performed after explicit user confirmation has been given.
You will see the following warning message if you try to disable or change the management VLAN on the uplink port:
