The Switch Port Settings page allows you to configure the selected port.
Switch ports can be configured in two ways:
- Switch Details Page Tabs: Use the interactive Switch graphic within the VLAN, PoE Scheduling or Port Isolation tabs.
- Port Settings Page: Enable or disable settings using toggles directly on this page.
While the VLAN, PoE Scheduling and Port Isolation tabs focus on specific features, the Port Settings page consolidates all port settings into a single view for comprehensive management.
Accessing the Port Details Page
Follow these steps to access the Port Settings page:
- Log into the Plasma Cloud console;
- Select the Organisation and Network containing the Switch of interest from top-right menu;
- Navigate to Switches in the main menu on the left;
- Click on your device of interest in the table. This will take you to the Switch Details page;
- Navigate to either the Ports / VLAN / PoE Scheduling / Port isolation tab;
- Click on a port inside the table to open the Port Settings page.

Features on the Port Details Page
Each feature can be enabled or customized using toggles and drop-down menus:
Title
Displays the port name (e.g., Ethernet + number or SFP + number).
Description
Add custom notes in the description box.
Link
Enable or disable the flow of data from the port to its connected device. All Switch ports are enabled by default. The link speed defaults to "Auto" but can be adjusted using the drop-down. When selecting a specific data link speed, always make sure it is supported by the connected device.
Throttling
Set custom upload and download throughput limits. For more instructions, please refer to this article.
Isolation
Enable port isolation to segregate wired clients by preventing inter-port traffic exchange. For details, please refer to this article.
PoE
Activate Power over Ethernet to supply power to connected devices. Assign a custom PoE schedule to power devices on or off as needed. For details, please refer to this article.
VLAN
Configure logical networks by assigning allowed and/or default VLANs to the port using the drop-down menus. To understand the different modes, please refer to this article.
Mirroring
Copy network packets from one port (source) to another port (destination) for monitoring or debugging. For details, please refer to this article.
