When an Access Point reports an unsupported channel, an alert in the form of a red triangle will be shown in the status column of the Access Points list, as depicted below. On mouse hover, the message The channel configured for the # radio on 2.4GHz/5GHz is not supported will pop-up.
What does it mean?
This means that the selected channel of your whole network is not compatible with this specific Access Point.
What to do?
To solve this issue, you will have to change the network wide channel (in Settings > Network) or override the channel settings for this specific Access Point. You can quickly reach the Access Point settings page by clicking on the gear icon in the error message pop-up.
Please note that channel assignment for the affected radio will fall back to a usable one automatically while the warning is active.
If you wish to avoid this issue in the future, we highly suggest to select WiFi AI and let it pick the best channels for your network. You can enable this feature in your Networks Settings of the Plasma Cloud console, under “WiFi Settings”. You can read more on our WiFi AI in this article.
